Collection of Case Studies

The goal of Task 41 “Economics of Energy Storage” within the IEA Energy Storage TCP is to assess the economic value of energy storage systems including experiences from existing projects. For this purpose, we are currently collecting more case studies and project examples through a questionnaire conducted by DTU Technical University of Denmark as part of the task as a further data basis for the task.

Why should I participate? Your participation in the survey will contribute to the targeted and realistic recommendations and guidelines that will be the outcome of the task. The aim is to contribute to a better understanding of the economics of energy storage within the IEA, national and international regulatory bodies, the investment sector and among market players.

The objective of this questionnaire is to identify both success stories and difficult cases in which existing benefits of energy storage solutions cannot be transferred into a possible business case. The participation takes approximately 20 minutes and is open to all energy storage technologies. The questionnaire is open to all kinds of energy storage technologies.

How can I take part? We kindly ask you to participate in the survey until September 3, 2024. To access the survey, please use the following linkor the QR code below.

The data will be kept strictly confidential. It is possible to answer anonymously. If you are unable to provide all the information due to non-disclosure or if the data is not available, please complete the questionnaire as far as possible.

Your input in this questionnaire will contribute to a comprehensive analysis of various applications of energy storage technologies and their impact on business viability.

You are welcome to share the questionnaire with colleagues and project partners.

In case of any questions, please reach out to Jianhua Fan, Associate Professor, DTU, jifa@dtu.dk and Beatrice Schulz, b.schulz@bves.de.

Please note: This is the second round for this survey, so if you already participated in the first survey period, you do not need to participate again. However, if you have gained new insights, we would be delighted if you would participate again.
